Default Looking at Cosworth short block

From Cosworth's short block, it shows that they use Nissan forged crankshaft, and I was wondering where this part is actually coming from ?

Nismo ? This was not in R-tune or S-tune part list from Nismo at all.

I am considering BC crank, but wouldn't it be better using Nissan forged instead ?

For Cos website~

Specification

Cosworth Forged Pistons (95.5mm)

Cosworth Forged H Beam Connecting Rods

New Nissan Forged Crankshaft (81.4mm)

Cosworth High performance Rod and Main Bearings

Cosworth High Performance Main Bearing studs

New Nissan VQ35 Alloy Block

Complete balancing of rotating assembly

Cosworth serial number Cool~

All 350Z cranks are forged. It's nothing special.

So, only parts like forged piston and Carillo rods etc. and balanced with oe block and crank.

I know Cosworth build really good engine, but this is kinda steep for $7,900 range.

You can definitely get a good built shortblock for less than that through a forum vendor.

Dude, its Cosworth. Of course its going to be spendy.

What is the goal of your build? Regardless what it is, there are going to be a lot cheaper ways to get there then by getting cosworth parts and even worse a complete cosworth shortblock. You could duplicate everything they're offering for about 2-3k by going with other aftermarket parts and having it assembled by another engine builder.

The price is steep but I have seen some vendors advertising for alot less then retail price. Another option is having a motor built with Cosworth parts for alot less. I bought a motor from Forged Performance built with Cosworth parts for around $5000...only difference it was a used block and wasn't assembled by cosworth. It was definitely worth the money in my opinion...motor screams...sound alone made it worth it.
