rpm limits of the stock bottom end???

Exactly. The optimum shift point would be determined after the car has been tuned and the dyno chart is available for examination.








For example, Tomei provides this chart to show the gains that their 264 degree cams will have. If this graph is true, it should be easy to understand why a 7200 RPM shift would be desired. Also, when paired with a 3.7 final drive, the shift points should be close to the same MPH as stock, but with the benefit of increased torque.

i just dont understand why sharif@forged doesnt get high revving high compression motors makes a better noise and makes power
i think if adam@z1's motor (i've been checking out the thread he is currently revving 8400rpms) revved to 9000-10000rpms it would sound ridiculous...

but that chart is on an otherwise stock, or at most, lightly modded motor.....so it really does not tell all that much

why? Why rev a motor to 9k unless it makes power to near that level? Who gives a **** what it sounds like.....as cool as it may be, its not cool if it doesn't pull all the way to redline
