Default Warranty: Pressure plate

I figure since this is my first post i'll introduce myself. I'm Broc and I own a 2004 white 350z

So my pressure plate is bad at about 38k miles in my Z, I'm curious to whether or not anyone here has had this problem before and if the powertrain warranty will cover it.

I know they wouldn't cover something like a clutch but a pressure plate is a little different, it shouldn't be bad after only 38k miles.

From your friend, the Warranty Manual:

What is Covered?
TRANSMISSION AND TRANSAXLE
Case and all internal parts, torque converter and converter
housing, automatic transmission control module, transfer
case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets, clutch cover
and housing, and electronic transmission controls.

Doesn't mention clutch disk or pressure plate so my guess is they both fall under "wear" items that aren't covered. I would guess a lot of it depends on the problem, if it's defective, you might get it replaced under warranty. If it's worn or shows abuse, forget about it.

The warranty doesn't cover it. I should know... I just had mine replaced one week ago when they were replacing my flywheel (which was covered by the warranty). Since they already had the transmission out I had them replace the clutch and pressure plate which I had to pay for. All labor was free so that was the only good part. The way it was explained was "Since the pressure & clutch are wearing parts... the warranty wont cover it". $409 later the ZR feels great

Alright thanks man, thats the input I was looking for. On nico no one would answer my question except reply "WOW LOLOL 38k MILES SOME ONE BEAT ON YOUR CAR "

So unless the dealer will let this one slide as defective (maybe I can woo them into just paying for labor?) then it looks like I'm on my own with this one.

Well you know the saying, when something breaks thats the best time to upgrade !!!!!!!

It's considered a "wear" item as mentioned above. Shoulndn't be bad at 38k miles, so either it's faulty or you've been riding the clutch or jamming the gears too much. Good luck with things.
