cusco LSD breaking in
Hi guys hope every 1 is doing fine.. I've been searching for cusco LSD breaking in if any has done it befor found a lot for nismo but non for cusco, plz let me know... thanks
There should be some documentation with the lsd telling you what is needed I think. From what I understand though it is all pretty much the same.....either 20 minutes of figure 8's or an extended period of granny driving.

Why don't you go take 30 minutes of your time to do figure 8's and change the fluid to be safe?
I mean whats the big deal if you end up not having to do them? I've always heard you had to, and my friend just bought a 2 way diff and thats how he broke his in. Better safe than sorry.

BREAK IN PROCEDURE (This is the exact break in procedure that kaaz recommends in the manual.) This should work for the Cusco, too...
"Go to the nearest parking lot and drive in a figure eight pattern. In the straight part of the 8, slowly accelerate to 20km/hr. Once you reach the end of the straight go into neutral with clutch released. Make the smallest turns with the maximum steering angle. Once you get back to the straight , slowly accelerate again to 20km/hr and keep repeating for a period of 30 minutes.
Once that is done, go back to your house and change the fluid."
Good luck.

Figure 8's for 30 min is the best way.
My nismo just recommended city driving, so I did figure 8's for 20 min, and drove for about 500 miles, changed the fluid, then went to Thunder Drift at thunderhill raceway in willows. Lsd performed flawlessly.

how can you buy stuff from someone who can't even answer a basic question about the install?
As I've posted before:
There is no break in with the Cusco diff - 500-1000 miles, change the fluid and go to synthetic at that point. No need for figure 8's

Thank you Z1 for answering my question.
Now where you are there are a lot that can answer your question where I am there is only one guy and he was on a vac. when the stuff arrived and I need to break in my diff can't wait for him. Is this getting any clearer.
By the way he is a client of yours his name is BASSAM he used to order parts from you to Riyadh Saudi Arabia. rings any bell. any way to cut a long story thank you and thanking all the gys that helped me and tryed to give me answers.

try asking some of the guys at the-top, such as Abdullah, etc. Those guys are very knowledgeable and experienced, and I think could be a big help to you given the mods you've done.
No real need to run the Cusco oil, though it is certainly good stuff. I used normal Castrol dino oil to break the diff in, and since then have tried a few different blends. I've been happiest with Redline and Motorcraft synthetics and the least pleased with Mobil 1 (the diff did not seem to like this at all). The Motul has been well received, and I've got some ready to go in at some point this week.
Also, make sure you've got the diff set to the right lockup, and this cuts down on the noise and will increase performance for the street (most here run 60% lockup, but Cusco ships it with 100%). Requires disassenbly and re-arranging of the disks inside, so it's a bit messy to do after the diff is in the car. There is a diagram that should have come with the diff to show you the arrangement of the plates for the different lockup variations.
