Not sure if this is a repost but I am not reading thru this thread to find out. February 2008 Import Tuner, Page 40, bottom outer corner of page, snap shot of your car. Not a big picture but I am sure this is only the start of magazine coverage for this car. Congradulations.

Awesome... a good alternative to the FI route. I am really considering this. Only problem I see are the headers themselves.
Do you think the stock exhaust manifolds will fit? Seems like a very tight fit in there. If the stock manifolds WILL fit, then I MUST go for this swap.

ok back on topic: The LS headers ARE specific for the 350Z. F-body headers will not fit. The retains the drive by wire systems and uses a corvette/gto ecu. The signals for the gauges are all run via CAN BUS thru the Z ecu. Basically the way to make everything function is retrofitting VQ sensors onto the LS. This will be done this week and tested. This will not work for RPM as the LS cank and VQ crank put out a different amount of pulses per second. the guys from UPREV are working with Brain Hinson to convert these signals to be readable by the Z ecu and display accurately on teh stock tach. YOu can just hook up the LS pulse but i belieeve the stock tach would read approximately 17% off.
Brian is using this week and next to finish up the minor things and then pricing as well as functionality (and my "what the car feels like with a V8" review) will be available soon.

haha. Yeah, I was referring to the stock LSx manifolds, due to CA's BAR "engine change" program requirements. If I can retain all the stock (LSx) emission controls (cats in stock placement, evap, other misc stuff) and stock/CARB exempt items on the car, this swap is basically a winner. My smog will be up soon (less than a year) and I WANT something legal (less hassle).

So, if I am reading this correctly, the car will have the LSx ecu AND the 350z ecu. The 350z ecu is solely utilized for readings of the gauges while the LSx ecu controls the engine? Then which ecu will be molested for OBDii diagnostics?
The basic rule of CA's engine change law is that there are absolutely no problems with the OBDii throwing out codes, so mixing and matching can work, although not truly recommended.
Thanks for the info!

Not that I'm complaining cause I wanted to hear the videos but, revving a brand new engine like that especially on what seemed to be a cold startup, OUCH!! Very nice though.
