6-speed upgrades?
Before someone flames or acts sarcastic, YES, I DID USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!!! YES, I GOOGLED, YAHOO'ED AND USED OTHER SEARCH ENGINES.
Unfortunately I still haven't found an answer to my question, so here goes...
This past Saturday I broke my trans at the strip. It's an infamous 2003 6-speed. I'm the OG owner and never had any 3rd or 5th gear grinds, so I never bothered to take it to get replaced or looked at. I figured the curse had skipped me. Obviously I was wrong. I already contacted the dealership to see if it could be covered under the same recall they used for the grinding trannys.
Incase they don't or can't cover my 6-speed under warranty or recall...
WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE FOR UPGRADING MY TRANSMISSION???
I am wondering if anyone has upgraded their trans. to say, a Vette 6-speed or a Chevy 5-speed? I know there are a couple of Autos. running Chevy 350's and 400's, so I figured maybe the manuals can run Chevy manuals?
If not, what other upgrade options are there, tested/proven/being developed? Only other thing that comes to mind is doing a rebuild with some cryo'ed parts... but there has to be other options, right?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Nasty

yeah, still no cigar!
Anyone else out there venturing out and trying something different? Figured if I have to spend money on the trans, might as well make it worth it, no?
