Question Tranny Problem (Reverse)

I have an 04 Roadster with a short shifter and I suddenly can't shift into reverse. Every other gear is fine and I haven't had any problems with the tranny other than this. I tried adjusting the shift plate, but no luck. The only way I can get it into reverse is by removing the shift plate to move the shifter further to the right. Any idea of what might be the problem here?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you ever felt your transmission sort of rumble/grind into Reverse in the past? Mine does that now occasionally, and I worry what it will lead to.

The short shifter is your problem.

Sounds like linkage needs to be adjusted.
