Default Need Advice: About Clutch Flywheel

So my clutch just recently started slipping like crazy, im at about 43k on my Z so i guess it is about time for me to get it replaced. My confusion is when it comes to what i need to get replaced. I know i need a new clutch but do i really need to replace the flywheel as well? Like i think i know the purpose of the flywheel it pretty much helps the RPM's go up faster with a lighter one, right? So Im debating whether I should get a new flywheel or not, i mean one positive thing is it will be cheaper in the long run to have the clutch and flywheel replaced due to larbor cost, but if im not really worried about having my RPMs climb through the roof faster do I need to replace it? Im getting a JWT replacement clutch, it should be no problem with the stock right? Anyone who can chim in I would greatly appericate it. If I weren't so strapped on cash I wouldn't second think this but I am..

Here's the lowdown:

OEM clutch is totally fine unless you do a lot of agressive driving. OEM flywheel is also fine. You don't need to always replace the flywheel, you can always get it resurfaced which shouldn't cost more than $50 by a good mechanic/machinst. I usually just order a new OEM flywheel from Napa Auto because they give you a core charge when you return your old oem flywheel. In the end you rarely pay more than $100 for a new flywheel after you return your old one.

I wouldn't get a JWT lightweight flywheel unless you're comfortable with spending a lot of money. Sure it makes the car feel peppy, but you need to be realistic. If you're strapped for cash, just stick with an OEM flywheel, you've enjoyed the car thus far, so the OEM flywheel isn't that bad.

As far as a clutch goes, go with one that suits your driving style. If you track your car, or drive aggressively, you should probably look into getting something a little stronger than OEM, such as JWT like you mentioned. If you commute with the car and accelerate hard once in a while, an OEM clutch is fine.

Edit: I reread your post, Yes, JWT Clutch will work perfectly fine with your OEM flywheel.
Everything is interchangable, i.e. lightweight flywheel with oem clutch, oem flywheel with jwt clutch etc.

Usually when replacing clutch, you want to resurface the flywheel but I've heard mixed stories about the flywheel in the Z being hard to resurface for some reason. I think it might have to do with it being a sprung flywheel. In any case, it costs a good $80-100 to resurface and in my opinion, you might as well get a lightweight flywheel if your going to go through the trouble. If you are able to resurface the flywheel properly, make sure its done, that way the new clutch can mesh properly with the stock flywheel otherwise there will be acclerated wear on your new clutch. Hope this helps. If for some reason someone has more info. than I do on this, feel free to shed some light.
