i was gonna go with the vortech and hoping to get around 375 but more would be nice

Yeah, but if I remember correctly, that clutch/flywheel held 600whp on a dyno . I don't want to start a flame war here, but I take a lot of the stuff that I hear from them with a grain of salt.

In that case I think the Carbonetic setups would be a little overkill for your setup. I would definitely look into the Competition Clutch Stg 4 combo. I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Default Luk?

What about Luk Clutch? I am looking at the same problem and was advised by a mechanic to look at Luk.

When I had my tranny replaced, I had them put on the Nismo clutch. I have no complaints. It's heavier, but you'll get used to it in a couple of days. The reason I love it is because it eliminated the damn clutch chatter I was experiencing w/ the stock clutch.

I've never even heard of that company. At any rate, I just went to their site and it didn't really have very much info about it, buying and installing that seems like a bit of a roll of the dice to me, especially considering how much info their is on this site about tried and true clutch flywheel combos.

Haha... Oh, realy, you do?? Care to explain yourself?? I can assure you that we have sustained well over 600 whp and 650tq ON A RACE TRACK and on the dyno (severall types of dyno's) on quite a few cars with the JWT clutches and flywheels for quite a while (years in some cases). Is the standard JWT clutch & flywheel idealy suited for over 500-600 whp??.... Probably not, but they have proven to me and many other people across the country to have proven their worth, and are very under-rated. As our rule of thumb, I suggest a multi-disc (triple disc) type clutch for anything over 500-550 whp and tq, and the JWT clutch and flywheel (and a couple others) for anything below 550-600 whp & tq.

Please do not listen to everything you might be being led to believe, or might be told by your installer/tuner . If you are going to take what we say with a grain of salt, then be sure to take EVERYTHING you hear with a grain of salt from EVERYBODY. Its only fair. But I can atleast prove what I am saying, and most people who know, have atleast heard of, or have seen what we do with our cars. (pick up a magazine sometime)

To the OP. ..... I guarantee that you would be more than happy with the JWT clutch and flywheel. I have tried, used, installed, and driven on pretty much all of the clutches and flywheel combinations for these cars, and there is some decent stuff out there.....But for the price, you just cant go wrong with the JWT clutch and light-weight flywheel.

Depending on which clutch and flywheel you are installing, I have seen ranges of $200 to $400 for just the install.

Do you have proof of this? Or are you just trying to make yourself feel justified buying a clutch/flywheel that you did not need at your current power levels?

I agree with this, my friend had it on his 300ZX TT that I sought of talked him into, as I'm putting it on my 350Z with a vortech S/C. I know somebody else that has it on his 350Z TT and he's had no problems. But we are not 500 hp. So why spend more for something made for more unless you plan for more hp. 500hp and under JWT Clutch/flywheel is plenty strong.

Regarding the JWT clutch, I have had one on my car for the last 1.5 years and making 400-450whp depending on what tune I run. No issues at all.

Is the Nismo clutch heavier than the JWT? I love the feeling of a rather stiff clutch. It would be for a NA 350Z, it wouldn't need to hold a lot of torque.

I recently went with the Clutchmasters Stage3 combo + LW flywheel.

Peddle feel is much stiffer then '06+ clutches but only slightly stiffer then '03-'04 clutches.
Grabs instantly and is actually very quiet for having such a light flywheel.
