Default ENGINE SWAP 04.5 motor in a 04 350Z

hey all
I hydrolocked my engine this summer due to cold air intake. It was a sad sad day. But geico paid out on my insurance claim and i bought a 04.5 motor with the money and I put it in myself. Everything was great except that the o4.5 motor had different o2 sensors and different harness therefore i had to unplug the sensors in order for the engine to run right with the 04 ECU. Im pretty sure i have to rewire the harness so the sensors can run the right way with my ecu. ANy1 have any helpfull wiring diagrams of the 2 different o2 sensors?????????????????

ALso should i buy a 2004.5 ecu, or is it not worth it?

Thanks

Not to hijack your thread, but Gieco actually paid for a hydrolock motor caused by a CAI? I guess how did you convince them to cover your motor?

probably took off the CAI, put on the stock airbox, and lied about what happened

I suspect you're gonna need a 2004.5 ECU to go with the engine. The 2004.5's are ULEV (Ultra Low Emission Vehicles) so there are significant differences in the ECU (one of which is the extra O2 sensors).

I doubt he had to lie. If you driving down the road and hit standing water, hydroplane and crash into a tree, the insurance company isn't going to ask if you had aftermarket wheels and tires. By the same token, if you get into deep water and ingest it, the insurance co. shouldn't know or care how the aftermarket CAI.

My wife did this to our Magnum. Geico paid for a brand new HEMI, transmision rebuild kit, and install. They were pretty good about it. No hassles.

since the 04 Ecu connects to the newer engine harness there must be a way to rewire this, i do have the old 02 sensors, if only i could get the wiring diagrams?

While the ECU may have the same physical connectors, the internals are not the same between 2003/2004 and 2004.5 ECUs. Running the wires to something that's not functional isn't going to do diddly-squat.

we have a lot of cars running around with no o2 sensors, they really dont do much. i wouldnt worry about it at all, just leave them unplugged.
