clutch for my power...
currently i am working on this little project. i need help with my clutch and flywheel right now. i have currently decided to purchase the APS extreme TT kit for my Z along with a STAGE 3 longblock engine with HKS wastegate and other goodies. the engine will be more then enough to handle the extreme kit...but the problem now is getting the power to the ground. this is where the drivetrain comes in...duh. so since i have NEVER upgraded my clutch except ones that i burnt out when i was noob in high school...can someone explain to me what this is all about??
if it says 1350kg of pressure. that means obviously that that is what it can handle. now...how do you relate taht to HP though? so basically what do i need for my set-up? and what is twin vs triple etc...and carbon?? i drove a buddies civic and it had a triple disc in it and that s*** was HARD to drive...maybe its just cuz it wasnt putting out power idk, but that was ridiculous...
let me know whats up!!

I highly recommend Carbonetic. Go to their site here, http://www.carbonetic.net/products/clutch.html# , and open "click to see more features". Read that info, it should answer a lot of your questions.

the clutch gets rated by torque, not hp. The way clutches work is that the stiffer the fingers on the pressure plate, the more pedal effort is required, but the more torque the clutch can hold. That # you see of 1350 kg is the stiffer of their 2 offerings, and has the highest torque capacity.
For an APS Extreme and a build motor, a Carbonetics triple with the 1350 pressure plate is your best bet - in stock too if ya need

I am currently running the Exedy Twin carbon plate and find that it is close to stock.
Thanks

it's not a hard clutch to get used to by any means, but certainly any car with enough power to have a triple carbon clutch in it lost its daily driver status years ago
If by noise, yes - there is no avoiding noise with an integrated clutch/flywheel setup - it's a natural byproduct of the design
