Default 6 puck clutch?

I'll be in the market for a clutch within the next few months. Im curious if any NA guys have run a 6 puck. (bear with me, i realize it doesnt make sence!)

I just got out of a buds S2K (only mod is exhaust) that has one and that thing chirped going into fourth. Crazy for a car that they forgot to install torque at the factory! Made me wonder what it would be like on my car.

I know its definatly overkill to say the least, but I like the on/off feel that it had. His ride *felt* considerably faster just cause it tossed you back everytime it engaged compared to a mellow transition before the install. Street drivability seemed like it would take some getting used to, but not too bad overall. Once you're movin there didnt seem to be a difference. Just gettin going was a bit shakey, but i think in due time you could work that out.

Mods are below - nothin worth noting and i dont plan on FI in the near future.

I know I dont need it. So we dont need to have that conversation, but I'm just wondering if anyone has run one just for the sake of doing it.

Do you think the ACT Street heavy duty clutch would be comparable, or would only the 6 puck have this effect?

Sorry for the ramble...

I ran a 6 puck ceramic/metallic with sprung hub in my 96 awd Talon. I loved the clutch and had stock pedal feel since I used a factory pressure plate since the disc was capable of handling the torque without additional clamping load. This was years ago but I would consider getting one again but not for a daily driver, a bit too much work for daily driving but that is what I used it for. www.clutchnet.com is what I used.

I'm sorry but you cannot compare how any clutch on any DSM feels, from stock, to full tilt race, to anything on a Z

I don't rate a clutch by whether it chirps a gear or not...a stock car can do that if you want it too

it holds a ton of torque and has very easy manners - its a terrific unit

Your Z has serious traction issues if it's "Chirping" in fourth. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you're putting serious power (400+ whp) your Z will NEVER loose traction in that high of a gear. Unless of course you tires are bald and you hit a patch of black ice.
