I bet people are going to start seeing high lead amounts in their UOA now.

Would the size of the filter allow for more filtering capacity? More area for pollutants before the bypass opens.

half of your car is made in China...half of just about everything in the world is made in China, just like 20 years ago, it was in Japan, and 50 years ago, it was the US.

Damn China, another item I have to keep a close eye on now.

Hey, maybe lead is a good additive for oil.

Based on the recommendations of a K&N tech back in '03, I've been using an HP1006. Not for any Nissan product, but seems to work fine.

The smaller is fine...if it makes you feel better--use the larger.

To be honest IMO filters were introduced as a money making venture---you're pick up tube has a screen that will eliminate anything that may hurt the pump.

There are so many things we take for granted are "Law" because we were told it was.

The pickup tube screens debris that will wreak the gears in the pump.

The main thing is ---change your oil at sensible intervals

I bought a WIX filter at O'Reilly's a few weeks ago and the guy said it's the same part # for a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine. I asked if he was joking and he said that he was serious.

I am going to swap my filter out for the larger 1 next time.

I'm getting the HP 1010 next time around. It's the same as the M1-110.

"To be honest IMO filters were introduced as a money making venture---you're pick up tube has a screen that will eliminate anything that may hurt the pump."

There are lots of aircraft piston engines that came from the factory with just screens, and the oil had to be changed every 25 hours. Adding a filter kit allowed the oil change interval to be doubled to 50 hours.

Yeah, the screen will protect the pump from damage, but it doesn't do much to protect the bearings and cam.

I know aircraft piston engines are much simpler than Z engines, but their owners are VERY interested keeping them running well.
