what do you guys think about running these gears on my bolt on 03. i will be spraying 100 shot at the track. or which do you recommend for my setup. what gear are you in going through trap with these. gotta be fourth right? how far into it
I would run your car with nitrous and the stock gears first to see how things go. If you hit the top of fourth gear in the quarter with Nitrous and the stock gears, I'd probably leave it alone.
But the G37 6mt does come with a 3.7 final drive. It makes quite a difference... plus the differences in the motor, of course...
just kinda wondering how the 3.7 compares to the 3.9 and which would be better for me all around, since i will be spraying at the track. but still want some more kick for motor.
I know this thread's a bit old, but I had a question fro the OP.
I talked to the head mechanic at my local nissan dealer (Coral springs nissan / coral springs automall) and he said he's not familiar with the installation of the final drive gear and the differential. He said that he's used to just swapping the whole pumpkin and never took it apart before, Therefore I don't want to take it over there because I only want a shop that's experienced with this kind of thing to work on my car.
So the question is do you know anyone in SFL that would be experienced enough to install the 4.08 gear?
