Default Typical Clutch Install Price

Hey there, I've searched and searched but with no luck.

Trying to gauge what my mechanic told me. He gave me a qoute on installing my new clutch setup with flywheel. Now I think he is charging me way to much. But I might be wrong.

What has everyone typically paid to get this done.

honestly, pricing will vary alot by geographical region and shop (ie experience level with the car)

best bet is call 3-5 local places you intend to use and base the quotes off what you get

For our region, $300-$500 would be about right

Yeah my friend said 500. My Jaw dropped, (how the heck is that a hookup). He will be draining the dif and trans fluid while he at it though.

Z1 you know any shops you trust? I dont have many people I can go to that I trust in workin on my car. My next option was to call the dealer.

Well, draining/refilling the fluid while the tranny is out to do the clutch takes all of 15 extra minutes (I just did it on my own car)

Honestly, I'm done recommending shops locally

$500 isnt horrible

Most shops typically charge 4-5 hours labor, so $400-$500 isnt really a ridiculous price.

You could always try GT Spec. I dont know if they're only working on their own in house cars as well, but you could always call and ask.

I wanted to use a good tranny and dif fluid. I know they said theres a sticky on this, but the 1 I read was for Engine Oil.

Was thinking Royal Purple, Redline, or Motul but don't know the exact kind to get.

Z1 do you carry any of this in stock or can I order this from your shop and pickup? Any Oil you recommend?

They're all good oils, but we use all Motul products. I'm sure Z1 has one of the 3.

EDIT: GT Spec only works on their own in house cars. I just checked Sorry

oh my bad, i didn't realize, i don't exactly keep tabs on a shop on the other side of the country

but on another note, since ur just changing the clutch, u don't have to go to a tuner / performance shop, u could just go to a reputable repair shop, any decent repair shop shouldn't have any problems with a clutch and flywheel. also, if i'm not mistakened VTR (Vinny Ten Racing, not VRT) is also in new york, and they do really good work from what i hear, so u can try them if u want
