Default Air bag removal

Has anyone removed the airbag and does it require the special Kent Moore tool? If it requires the special tool, where can I buy it?Thanks.

Why don't you just, 1- get a new steering wheel that doesn't have an airbag hookup, or 2- take out the fuse to the airbag.

There are 2 torx screws on the sides of the steering wheel that need to be removed to get the air bag off.

So you are taking them out because of weight?

This type of stuff cracks me up. Is your life worth the pound or so that the airbag takes up? If you are THAT worried about weight, look into swapping out the seats, I am sure that is a HUGE difference between weight.

I am not saying you are a bad driver and that you may hit someone, I am saying that there are many bad drivers out there and it is just a matter of time for one to meet you close up. I have personally had AirBags help me, so I KNOW they are not worth the 1-2Lb weight loss.

I have to remove the airbag to get to the spiral wire connection behind it. I am attempting to install cruise control on a base Z.
