10 second Z?
#41
stock Z is plenty for speed for a while in my opinion for the younger kids.
drive a civic, then drive a Z and you wont care about 10 second cars.
You will be happy your car isnt as slow as the rest of the kids at school.

well if you're looking into that range of time, you might as well START with buying the Z and just leave it stock!
it will run a low 14 with a half decent driver.
*sigh*
you are in need of lots of research

My last car was a ~400whp evo and personally, I wouldn't want that much power on a daily driven street vehicle again. There is nowhere to really use it except the highway, and by the time you're having fun, you're also looking at serious speeding tickets. Not worth it IMHO. For me 300-350whp is plenty for a DD. Save the craziness for a race dedicated vehicle.

10k for 10seconds? Nonsense. Don't let these haters try to crush your dreams.
Here's what I do:
Set your rev indicator @ 1.21 gigawatts
Adjust the steering wheel so it's all the way up
Turn on your heat seater on or pretend to if you don't have the buttons...just make a clicking sound with your mouth
Fart (**important**let it out slowly though, like when you're in class and don't want anyone to hear it...you know...like when you spread your cheeks on the side and just let it slip out ) and snap my fingers at the same time
you don't even have to press the gas
works for me everytime
gluck

What about when you go to college? Do u know how much that will cost, ok lets assume your parents pay for everything like rent, books, and college itself, you could spend half that money a month at the bar partying. Oh and if you get a gf, its all over, that 1 grand a month is gone before you know it. It’s great to dream though...

trust me, most of us on here who have had our Z's for even 2 or more years can still mess up with all the power at times even though we think we know our cars well, just the other day i lost traction on a turn, and my tires are wide, can you imagine if i was in the driver seat with the power of a 10 sec car? get to know the stock car first.

stock engine with suspension mods and take it to the tracks. Drags are boring and not really ment for the Z imo. Then, when your ready, TT/SC the Z with a good kit and built engine. Don't go cheap

10second cars pull wheelies which puts things into perspective. When's the last time you seen a car pull a wheely on the street? The fastest cars on the road usually can't get out of the 12s.

10K aint gonna cut it with this car unless you really really really get some deals and know your stuff.
The car is just too heavy. You will need alot more HP to make the numbers IMO
I had the same problem with my Supra. I built an Integra Type R, gutted with about 450whp on pump. Went low 11's at close to 135mph on street tires.
Had a 91 Supra making a bit above 500whp and tq on pump. The car was prob lucky to run mid to low 12's because of the weight. . . even on some ET streets.
The Z can go fast, no doubt, but I think it shines more in the corners then a flat out drag car. This is coming from a drag racer BTW.
Get one with boltons and run it for a little. You will realize the car is a pretty damn fun car as is.

Trust me, plenty of street cars going MUCH faster then 12's. 12's arent even remotely respectable anymore. Too easy to do.

I know it's V6 but.. common, what about brakes? and big wide wheels?
talk about true dual? at least 1000$...
10k will be high 11 to 12s
depending on driver.
