^^ I haven't had the chance to take measurements. Exactly why I asked for feedback. I will do some measuring and change cooler sizes to fit. Thanks Adam!!! I can always count on you to have something substantive to say.
What do you think of the other aspects of this set-up?? It may need some more fine tuning.

Is this a cosmetic or bling mod? Just curious as to the purpose because I'm seeing these 500hp Zs go around the track, and none have had a differential cooler. What is your personal experience that prompted you to build this?

PM me your email and I'll send you a couple pics on where I mounted my tranny cooler under my car. I only have a tranny cooler but it is a pretty cool place that I mounted it. You can post it up if you want. I still don't know how to post pics on this site......dammitt

^^ I am F/I and want to build the car to be able to handle the most adverse conditions that I will encounter. While I know a street car isn't subject to the same degree of abuse as a race car I want to build in as much protection as possible. This actually started when I was checking my engine after sustained runs at speed. When I checked the steering fluid it was BOILING!! To me that was unacceptable and led me to investigate ways to prevent this. I decided to look at all of the fluids and felt coolers to keep the fluid temperatures at reasonable levels was the way to go. It will also help when I get my built block. At 600+ whp I do not want fluid temperatures to be an issue. Some say overbuild is overkill, but I would rather be safe than sorry. A blown block IS NOT in my future!!

My primary concern is to be able to control heat related issues with the fluids in the car. Any cosmetic or bling factors are incidental.

Hey man just an FYI...

I ordered the diff plug from Nissan. I should be able to get the thread pitch from it and get you a decent parts list for fittings. Im intereset in doing this as well.

The other day I put on my APS 3" dual exhaust and checked out the room available. There is loads of space under there. The only issue would be running power for the sump pump and thats not too hard. You would just tap off power from the fuel pump to run a relay that controls power to the pump. Think "AAM external fuel pump wiring".

As for your power steering boiling, Im running into the same problem. What is need is a decent oil cooler. What I have now thats waiting on a few other things is...

The left one is for the power steering, the right one is for the oil.

Got a Mocal Thermostatic sandwich plat controling flow to the cooler.

^^^ Where did you get those coolers? They look nice... I installed an upgraded power steering cooler from Summit Racing (looks like the nismo one), but now that I'm looking at the one you're going to install, yours looks much beefier.

They are the XO2 Racing ones. Hell they are even coated in a heat sink paint.

Z's are somewhat known to literally "purge" rear diff fluid out on a track day, especially in the summer months, and especially with r compounds. The amount of horsepower really has little to do with it in my experience..it's happened on cars with just bolt ons. The finned rear diff cover helps, higher viscosity diff oil helps, but to totally prevent it, a rear diff cooler is the trick

Adrian - the idea is to keep the pump lines as short of a distance as possible to avoid big drops in pressure, so you are going to want to mount the cooler right in the rear diff, area as space allows. Just behind the rear diff, basically between the muffler and diff, is a preferred spot as it can get plenty of airflow, but is largely immune from rock and debris damage by virtue of the fact that it would be behind the pumpkin. Size wise, I think about 1/2 the size of what you spec'd on page 1. It's not a large rear, and doesn't take much fluid, so a small cooler will work just fine.

^^ Thanks for the insight!! After your original post I checked the dimensions of the cooler I referred to and realized you were right!! That cooler was WAY to big. I am now looking for one HALF that size. I think the rest of the pieces will work fine. BTW do you carry coolers?? Don't think I saw any on your website. Shouldn't be hard to find a smaller cooler. If you carry them or can order them let me know.

Mocal and Setrab both have excellent coolers that can be ordered in appropriate sizes. I can help you put the kit together Monday and we can go from there

Just FYI Adrian, you might want to check this out...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-M-7...spagenameZWDVW
It has a fan, cooler and thermostat all in one assembly. All you would need in addition is the pump. Couldn't help but to share. I thought it might help.

but that's a transmission cooler, not a rear diff cooler - still way too big

Adrian, got your voicemail but it's been super busy this past week. One of these nights I'll sit down and map out everything you need and email you

Nope, I think he dropped the idea realizing it was major overkill. But if anyone else has designed one, I would be interested to see how it worked out.

I don't post a lot on here, but I was searching to see if anyone had done something like this yet since I'm almost finished with a setup for my G35. It's not completely hooked up yet, but the fittings I'm waiting on should be here tomorrow... anyhow, here's the rear diff cooler kit I'm working on. Pump, cooler, and wiring (on/off switch and temp switch activated) are mounted and ready to go. All the lines and fittings will be Earl's when complete.

I have a single exit exhaust, so there's plenty of room for the pump and the cooler core. I also fabricated a box around the cooler and covered the front with a metal mesh (no pics of the mesh), to help protect it against road debris.
