Default 4.0 or 3.9 Gears part number

Does anyone have the part number to the 4.0 FD or the 3.9...I used to own a 2001 Honda S2000 before I made the switch...Anyway...Tuner companies used to sell the 4.77 gears for like 1,200.00USD...I got the part number and go the gears out of a Kia Sportage 4x4 for 200.00USD...They bolted right up no problem...Thats why I am asking...There has to be a cheaper way...500.00 seems a little high...BTW I am new...Couldnt find too much info about part numbers using the search...Thanks....

there are no other cars final drives that fit into the Z except the ones already sold, and both of those are out of other Nissans. Given the sheer size of the ring and pinion, I am surprised they aren't more expensive

the dude above me sells 4.08's for pretty good prices, the 3.9's are so expensive cause everybody wants em and theyre hard to find....I've heard speculation that they come out of a Frontier, I wouldnt go hunting in junkyards just yet though....let somebody else screw up there car experimenting with it.

the 3.9 doesnt come out of any car sold in the US that I've ever found. It's out of a Japan model sedan from the 90's. They are the same price for either final drive and with the 4.08 being easier to get, that's been the goto setup lately

I priced the 4.083 gears at a Nissan dealership before I purchased mine. It was much higher than the price Adam sells them for.

I like to support the forum sponsors when possible, so I got mine from Adam at Z1. These cars should come with 4.083 gears, or at least 3.91...

ps: I posted the part number in one of the threads, you can look it up if you're still interested...

I can vouch for the prices Adam@Z1 has. I have a wholesale account with nissan, and adam is STILL cheaper than what I couldve gotten it for. Just save the time, and get it from adam.

My buddy has an '02 s2k, I recently bought him teh kia f/d gear (4.77) for christmas. Did you enjoy the extremely short gearing in your S?

The reason why I posted this is because if Im not mistaken the 240SX has the same diff as our 350Z...Also I did some research and I found out that the 240SX diff comes with the 4.0 gears...I found a used diff for 250.00...I wasnt sure if it would be a direct replacement...I figured the driveshaft was different...So I was going to take the gears and junk the housing or ebay it...

Nizmo400R...I loved my S2 with those gears...It made the car feel like it had 200 TQ...Plus It was faster than my buddys modded 02 by car lengths...I would have him by 3 cars by 3rd gear...He bought a comptech SC and I could run with him until about 80MPH from a 5MPH roll...Its Def the best bang for your buck mod with those cars and it seems to be the same way for the Z...Thanks everyone for all the info...
