Default ***Dyno Overlay of a 07 and 03 Same day Same dyno***

Here you guys go, I find it interesting to see the difference between the two engines.

This dyno was done on the same day same conditions. I have just about every bolt on for my car and the 07 has exhaust, test pipes and gears.

The 07 engine really shines in the top end compared to the older engines, no suprise there.

The 07 car belongs to Gooey.

Here is the Overlay

07 in Blue
03 in Red

WOWWW, youre making 280 rwhp with boltons and a tune? I give 300 rwhp mark 2 months with those HR's.

wow nice overlay. Your 03 is running real strong Todd. Were pretty much similar throughout until 6k rpms where the HR really shines. I guess it makes sense. At the track day we had I always reeled in on the previous models the 2nd 1/8th.

think you could match that HR's powerband with the cosworth manifold?

06magz- z1auto offers a 3 inch MAFS...but you need an aftermarket ECU (Utec, haltech, F-con) to use it I believe. hundred bucks for the MAFS, around a grand for the ECU's lol, worth it if you have full boltons and a ECU already. I'm pretty sure aceman figured out that the throttle body bore didnt do much? correct me if im wrong OP.

Not sure about the Cosworth manifold, would love to try it out though. Its a nice looking piece.

I have a 3 inch MAF housing now, its tuned with the UTEC.

Your right, the bored Throttle body did not do much by itself ( stock intake pipe and MAF housing ) but with that enlarged, i beleive it helped.

Cool chart!

The 07's dual air intakes really help out with the improved top end performance over the older models.

I was thinking the same... The HR might not even catch up on top with all the area you have under the curve vs. the HR...

if they bump displacement, theyre gonna bump creature comforts for whiney panzies, thus bumping weight up as well

I doubt they'll turn the Z into an edgey track machine for guys like us any time ever...

+1 We (forum members, hardcore guys who track their Z's) are only a small % of Z buyers. I doupt Nissan will change their car that drastically. With a 330hp motor and 3000 curb weight youre looking at a totally different class of car. Well be lucky if the next gen Z has the same weight as the current ones.
Changing the car will drive the prices up and throw off a lot of potential buyers.

which is why i'm keeping mine, gonna do this and that till I hit like 280 rwhp...4.08 gears...and a prolite flywheel will give me the acceleration I want..lots o' suspension work..and try to get it down to around 3200 pound curb weight. bah humbug on the trend of making cars fatter!

GREAT numbers. But why does your power die off so much after 6300K RPM?
