Just got a call fron nissan saying that they got my new tranny installed along with my clutchmasters clutch (stage 3) and flywheel...but now the car won't go into gear...they bled the clutch line...tried adjusting the pedal...and still nothing...when the car is off, it goes into gear fine...so im guessing its not the tranny. any ideas what it could be? the guy there says that its like the push rod isn't long enough for the new performance clutch...don't know if it might be like the old dsm's...some of the performance clutchs for them needed an extended push rod sometimes

I just installed the same setup, yesterday.
I noticed that my trans was very stiff, but it did go into gear.
I also had to shift very aggressively in order to get a smooth shift. But I do notice that after driving for 50 miles, its getting easier to shift into gear.
Perhaps they did not align yours properly?
I would be interested in knowing if this is a potential problem or not as well...
Cheers,
R

well, its a friend of mine that works at the dealership that did it...he decided to slip a socket over the push rod to make it a little long to see if it would fix the problem... and it did...so, unless someone else can tell me what it might be or how to fix it, tomorrow we are going to make a longer push rod for it

I didn't check parts numbers...
I will get up with my friend to check it out/ ask some questions...also...the extra length on the push rod allows it into gear but its still really hard to get in gear
thanks for the help so far everyone

there is no need for you to be making your own pushrod...from the sounds of it, the throw out bearing seems to be the wrong length. I had this issue when we first installed my clutch (OS Giken integrated single disk - uses a totally different style bearing than the Z typically calls for, but same principals apply), and even with the rod all the way out, we had 0 pedal travel lolol. After much cursing that we had to drop the trans again, we realized that we had installed the wrong TOB and once we replaced it with the right one, all was good

So, I called my friend and he said that he installed the Clutchmasters TOB and had compared it to the stock TOB that had come with the new tranny. He said they were the same size, so I just called Clutchmasters. The guy told me that they don't use a longer TOB. He then said that they might have bent the disk installing it, but im not sure how that would have happened. Plus the clutch works fine when engaged and is very quite. I would think it would be loud or not work when engaged if it was bent
Can a vendor check to see if the Clutchmasters TOB is longer in the Stage 3 than the Nissan TOB? (since you might have both on hand to compare)
Especially since Eltness350 said his was longer and the guy at Clutchmasters made it seem like all their kits use the stock sized TOB.
Thanks

It maybe possible that your combo was not installed properly.
I hope your problem gets resolved, asap. I can only imagine your frustration.
