Default Cold Weather Clutch

I searched and found nothing on this so....

I have an '07 6mt, and the past few days when it has been ultra-cold here my clutch has been really spongey and slow to rebound for a good long time (nearly an hour.) Anyone else experiencing this? I'm not sure what is going on with it other than fluids and stuff are probably pretty thick.

My VIN falls in that recall range, but according to the Nissan customer line it isn't recalled.

The Nissan Customer service person you spoke with doesn't know what they are talking about. Just go to the dealer and tell them you want the updated slave cylinder, it is most likely the reason your clutch is slow to return. After 15-20 mins of driving the clutch fluid should be well up to opperating temp. So after an hour there is no reason the clutch pedal should be returning slowly except for a faulty slave cylinder. Good luck.

I have the same problem but this ONLY happens when its below 20 or so and after the first time I start my car.

After 30 mins or so its perfectly normal...maybe you're exadderating? I had the same problem with just about any Manual tranny ive owned.

Yeah, I'm going to keep bugging nissan till they take care of the slave cylindar.

I don't think I'm stretching that time for my clutch too much. It was -2 outside this morning, and it finally starting moving at normal speed right about the time I got to work (45-50 min. 25 miles)
