Any experience with Southbend clutches?
Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Southbend clutches and what their thoughts were. They look to be promising and they are proven in other applications, just new to the Z platform. What FW are you running with the clutch as well. Ive narrowed it down to the DXD-FE or OFE/Act prolite fw and the ACT HD/prolite fw combos.
edit: Ive got nitrous now and plan on going TT in the future. I also take the car to the strip and plan on road racing once I get rid of the n20 and go TT. Its my DD (not for long though) so it has to be streetable

I'm currently using the OFE and the stock flywheel. The pedal effort is increased and it grips hard. Before this one, I had the DXD-F, but it takes long for it to break in, so I switched to the OFE. If you drive your car hard, the DXD will last you for ever man. I took it to the drag strip a lot, and when I took it apart, it didn't show the wear. I hope you're not annoyed by the noise you are about to get if you get a flywheel any lighter than the stock one. I had the DXD with the ACT street lite, and the noise drove me crazy. I can only imagine those other brands that are lighter. Oh, by the way, even though you feel like your engine revs faster, it doesn't make a difference on performance to justify the discomfort. I have time slips to prove it, lots of them. Keep the stock flywheel.

I don't have any vids of the noise. The noise itself is NOT caused by the clutch. It is caused by the LW flywheel.
The OEM Dual mass flywheel work as a dampner and dampens the pulses on the crankshaft as the cylinders fire. Basically when you use a LW flywheel the gears in the trans rattle everytime a cylinder fires.
The tighter/newer your trans is the less noise you will get.
It's something you either have to deal with if you run a lightweight flywheel or just reuse the stock resurfaced DMF unit and you will not have any noise. The car will always drive better with the stock fly in place.
I think what you lose off the line, drivability you lose and the noise you may get with a LW flywheel out weight the advantages they provide.

I don't have any videos of thee noise, but Trey, over at G35driver, made one of his JWT flywheel. Here http://g35driver.com/forums/showthre...t=jwt+flywheel
I've heard nothing but good stuff about these clutches. What seems most remarkable about them is that their higher end models can handle huge amounts of torque without requiring an extreme pedal effort or overly harsh engagement - while still using a solid single disc design.
I'm ordering the stage 5 FE from Concept Z next friday with some tax return funds
