Default Question for fellow Borla owners

Are any of you experiencing a clunking sound from the rear when you hit some bumps/dips? I don't get it all the time and the bump/dip has to be pretty big, but I think part of the pipe is touching the sway bar.

Have any of you encountered this? Do you guys think this is a faulty installation or a design flaw?

It might be hitting the sway, or the under brace that is underneath the pre-resonators. The whole exhaust is adjustable at every junction, so you can jack up the car, pull on the exhaust to recreate the rub, and adjust the pipe. It should be very easy. I'm a little worried that aftermarket anti-sways will rub. Hope that helps.

I don't know Jae, maybe we pissed the guy off by staying over at the Blarney Cove for so long!

I haven't experienced anything like that. I was on a dirt road for a little bit on Sunday when I went out to visit my dad in Ramona. No clunking sound. But, I usually take that road pretty slow and it's pretty well graded, so no huge bumps.

How was your drive home? Took me almost 4 freakin' hours!! Left about 4:15, got home at 8. Man, the 405 sucks!

Hope you get this figured out soon.

Dave

Dave, that is a monster drive! I usually head home around 9 pm, thus avoiding any traffic. Also, I go 210->57->5.

As for the exhaust, by the time my car got on the lift, my installer was 1) hungry 2) tired 3) irritated. I wouldn't be surprised if my install was poorer than the rest. On visual inspection, the only place I could see that would cause a noise is further back where the pipes run parallel to the driveshaft. There are canisters on each pipe that run pretty close to the 'M' (or 'W' depending on the way you look at it) bar.

I didn't notice any sounds coming home either. I think something got shifted when I got my oil changed this morning. But I can't be sure because I don't have jackstands. I might try to get in touch with Brent and see if they would be willing to re-evaluate my installation.

I'll keep you guys updated on what I find out.

I don't seem to have that problem. Call Brent, if there is a problem, he will make it right.

I have the same problem and as Ganz said, it doesn't happen all the time but when it does its a really annoying rattle. I think it comes from the pipes right after the H. I'm going to take a look at it again and hopefully find a solution.
