I am purchasing a Nismo flywheel for daily driveability issues. My question, which may seem stupid, is this flywheel compatible with the Nismo clutch and pressure plate. The reason I ask, is because the Nismo flywheel is solid (unlike the oem flywheel), and it appears the Nismo clutch is also solid (no springs). If this is true, what is there to absorb the vibration/chatter?

 

Unsprung hub = chatter from a clutch and instant engagment. The soild flywheel will produce a small amount but not very much. For performance they are bother better than stock but as with any mod there is a down side. You just have to ask your self is it worth it.

 

i have the nismo clutch/fw/pp and there is chatter, very faint when the car is cold or semi warm, but once you romp on it a bit and get it really hot the chatter is a lot more noticeable. there is also cement mixer sounds from aroudn 2krpm-2500rpm, give or take. My car is a fair weather car and weekend racer so it does not bother me in the least. I loved the gains it gave me as far as drivability and faster rev.

 

It's worth it.

I have the Nismo flywheel/pp/clutch and LSD. Absolutely right on all counts! Definitely noisier, definitely worth it in the gains you get!!!!!!!! Mine is a fair weather, weekend warrior as well.
