Default 04 with transmission problem

I've poked around a bit and haven't seen anyone describe what is happening with my car.

First things first. I have an 04 mt with about 74k on it. Never been on a track. Last week the transmission starts to act funny. When I shift into a gear(any of them except maybe reverse) I can give it some gas and the RPM's jump up but it takes a second for the wheels to catch. It doesn't slam into gear and there is no grinding or notchiness. (is that even a word?) Even driving along not changing gears I can rev up and get the same effect.

Any ideas on what could cause this?

Sounds like transmission rebuild time. The clutches are toast. - or low transmission fluid (I figure you already checked that - right?).

Fluid level is fine. So a new clutch and flywheel or a whole transmission rebuild?

Did you take it to the dealer to have it checked out?
