Break- in for nismo LSD?
I just ordered a central 20 3.9 FD and a nismo LSD. After i have them installed, what is the best way to break in the LSD? also what fluids do those of you w/ nismo lsd's use for your Diff? thanks

Rev up to 4k and dump the clutch.
jk
Each manufacturer has their own break-in procedure. Just remember to change the oil after break-in.

You should also hear a strange noise from the LSD caused by the different friction forces of the clutch plates. This is normal.
God damned Z's with their huge selection of mods!
lol...I have the same motor as the Z, but definitely not the same mod availability as the Z.

Just common sense would say to take it "easy" for at least 500-1,000 miles?

The nismo lsd is super temper mental on what kind of fluid you put in it..
Motul 90-PA is what i have in mine, the clunking isn't too bad with that fluid

I have about 16K on my car. Just changed my Diff fluid this weekend and discovered the stock fluid the dealership filled it with is toasted from the driving I do, literally its burned and no good. So just use some conventional diff fluid, and after break in be sure to us synthetic fluid. I just put 2 Quarts of Lucas 80W-90 synthetic, it replaces the 75W-90 and man, I can tell you the LSD enjoys it. Good luck.

When i got my nismo LSD the instructions said to not exceed 40 mph for 100 miles after install. and also not to drive very hard. im thinking that i will follow that, and also switch to motul 90 PA about 1000 miles after install.
thats up to you, just do some searching for the best LSD oil, I have heard motul is the best for quieting the nismo LSD a little bit, since it chatters. I also got LSD additive, http://www.thenismoshop.com/ikorb.ph...roduct_id=1530
to hopefully make it even smoother and quieter.

Motul 90pa is also for the tranny as well ?
Well I have a porsche club road race event coming up this friday. so just wondering, how long untill I can actually do some hard driving? its all a rolling grid with a pace lap, there is no lauching or shot gun grids.

motul 90 pa is primarily used for the rear diff. or for 4x4 cars, I dont think you can use it in the tranny, tranny needs a 75W85 or 75W90 gl4, diff needs a gl5. as for the porsche club race, will you be doing it in your Z with the new LSD? if so I would make sure you break it in real easy for the first thousand miles or so before really beating on it, but it is your car so do what you want.
i have a kaaz 2way diff on my racecar and when it was first installed the break in procedure was doing figure 8s! then change diff oil. rock and roll!!! DRIFTING RULES! lol j/k

Turn in is way better. The overstreer is way later in the turn and way more controlable. I can go alot deeper and with more speed than before. With the open diff it would want to rotate at the drop of a hat.
I also have shocks/springs/and sways so it is a total package.
