Default Clunking from rear

I have a clunking coming from the rearend of my car when I'm reversing out of parking lots and put the brakes on. I'm thinking it is worn out diff bushings since I'm also noticing extra driveline slop lately.

Can anybody confirm this?

The car is an 04 with 81,000 miles. 4 track days and I chirp 235mm Kumho MX's shifting into 4th gear (not all the time, just to illustrate that I don't take it easy on the car). So, it's driven fairly hard.

Left my crystal ball in the car. Are you really asking total strangers to diagnose a potentially serious problem with your car through a vague description (clunking from the rear) of the issue? Let's see a quick video or sound clip of this, and while you're at it, include one of those magic chirps.

I seem to recall a TSB for a rear-end "clunk" sound.

If it is your diff bushings, SPL parts sells stronger ones that might help:

I have 81,000 miles on my car right now. I doubt a service bulletin would apply, but those parts are what I will probably be using.

The suspension is all factory and I haven't had an alignment recently.

Good call and I'll check that also just to be sure.
