Clutch Engagement Point: Adjustable?
I recently purchased an 06 Track model and the one thing I dislike about this car (besides the curb weight) is the clutch engagement point. It is FAR too high. I'm scheduled to do an HPDE at Summit in a few weeks and I'd like to sort it out by then.
Is this a "warranty" item that I could get them to fix?
Is there some adjustment I can make?
The clutch feels like it grips fine, so I don't think I need replacement, it just isn't that nice from my experience.

Hmmm....ok, I was kind of afraid that was the answer.
With 6-8 HPDEs on the calendar for the year I had figured on replacing the clutch over the winter break so maybe I just suck it up and address it then. I have driven a few others Zs and none had a great pick up point but maybe the extra seat time behind mine has me hating it at the moment. I'm not in love with the gearbox, either, but it doesn't affect my driving style.
I did do a search but I couldn't find the mega thread you talk about - I'll try again.
Nevertheless, I can't wait to get this baby on track!

I tried it and didn't like how it felt afterwards and changed it back. You get used to the stock clutch tho. Give it time.

I adjusted mine because I hated how it was when I first got it. I only adjust it a few turns and it is 10x better and has not caused any problems. Just be sure to adjust the sensor and don't adjust the rod too many turns.
thanks for digging that post up. Im also glad to hear it can be adjusted a little ( operative word a little ) without any trouble.
Cuz im pretty sure my clutch is about burnt out from the engagement being so high. Mainly cuz im 6'3" and i cant really lift my foot all that high without my knee being in the dash.
And not to mention having a ginormous foot that sometimes gets caught on something under the dash if im not carefull.
Like earlier today when i was out goofing off and it happened again. Somehow the tip of my foot gets caught right before the clutch is about to engage and if im trying to take off fast im guessing its not a good thing.

I tried adjusting that rod and lowered my pedal to being equal to my brake pedal. I test drove and it felt a lot better... however, the pedal wouldn't come up completely on its own. It lacked about 1/4" of travel. I was unsure whether or not to adjust the "rest bolt" or not. I don't want to lose power due to partial disengagement or wear the clutch out prematurely. Any pointers?
I took the car a few blocks and onto the highway. I never felt any slipping but I was still afraid of taking the chance on something very minor that can lead to problems later. Anyone have some insight here?

I did this adjustment 2 times to my car...stock and my new ACT clutch with no real problems. It is an "adjustment" so it will be different on each car and to each drivers taste. I found that if you lower the pedal enough you will also need to adjust the top limit switch or you may not get the cruise control to work. The ECU will think the pedal is being pressed part way down.
Before replacing my Old OEM clutch setup with the JWt setup my engagement was very high like say pressing on the pedal like 20% and thats it and now my pedal has to be to the floor or 95% down to engage. Is this normal? can it be fixed if something wrong?

So I adjusted my clutch pedal last night.
Before
If the clutch pedal moves 12" only the last 3" of travel would actually engage the clutch.
After
Took away 7" of the 9" of dead travel. There's still only 3" of travel to feather the clutch, which is ****, but at least a lot of the slack is gone. The pedal is much closer to the floor now. Still don't like the feel but at least I don't have to waste so much energy/time.
