Battery Drain Since FI?
Well guys, i have another problem i wanted to see what some of your guy's opinions on this might be.
I had my APS TT installed around July of last year. In December of last year, the cold nights started here in Colorado. I left my car sit for about a month, figured the battery was going to be dead when i tried to start it up. It was, i jumped it a few times and let her run for a hour or two. Let her sit for a week or so, battery was dead again. So i said, **** it, went and bought a Optima Yellow Top, d35. Threw it in, started right up. Week or so goes by, tried to start it, almost dead. Now I'm like WTF! but by this time it was super cold at night where i live so i figured it must be the cold. Well i bought a trickle charger and threw it on. Let it charge it up. Now by this time its late Feb 08. So, the weather isn't so cold as it was in December. Pulled the trickle charger off and starts right up. Drive it about 30 mins. Let it sit for about 5-6 hours. And it cranks right up. So, i figured it was just the cold weather. Then a few more days pass and i try to start it up, it bearly cranks over!
So, i drive my girlfriend and I to dinner. Right after i shut it off i noticed i parked to close to another car (I'm kinda **** about getting door dings) so I start it up to move it and by the luck of god it cranks super slow but starts. So i move it and make some calls so people can come jump me, i figure no way in hell is it going to start after dinner. After a nerve racking dinner, i say my prayers and go out to start it. Once again, bearly cranks at first then starts. My amp gauge is reading just over 14, which means my alternator is working. So we drive home and park it. a couple days pass and i try to start it again. It cranks and cranks, slow of course, but no start. I have come to the conclusion my Autometer Nexus Gauges are draining the battery but they do not stay on when i turn the key off. I always turn my nav off, radio off, and unplug my radar detector before parking it.
ANY IDEAS?!?

First do you still have the oem battery? If you do it's not uncommon for those to die young. Do you have a after market radio and or amp. If you that is most likely the culprit. I have a simlar problem with my car and I found out by pulling the main 60 amp fuse off the battery for the audio system solved my problem chek that first.

Yes I read the whole post. But I was just making sure he didn't have anything else. It is most likely his gauges since it is the only thing he added besides the unichip. As for myself I do have after market stereo and I know it is cauing the problem. When I go away for a week or more and remove the fuse to the amps I have no problems with the battery.
If you haven't already tried to find out the source of your drain, that would tend to be the next logical step: http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Parasitic-Battery-Drain
