Aluminum flywheels are 2 piece units. The main disk is aluminum, the friction surface is made usually of steel, and riveted to the aluminum disk. The upside is they are cheaper to make, and rather than have the flywheel resurfaced down the road, you simply bolt in a new friction disk. The downside is they are noisier than their chromoly counterparts, and if you are not careful rebolting the friction plate in after replacement, you can/will destroy the transmission (I've seen it happen myself...it ain't pretty!)

The chromoly ones are made from one solid piece of billet steel. They tend to be a bit quieter than their aluminum counterparts, but a bit more expensive due to higher production costs. Like a conventional flywheel, you can simply bring it to any place with a lathe to have it cut like a brake rotor.

If your clutch is worn, it's the ideal time to do the flywheel as well if your budget allows. Install costs for doing both at once won't be any higher than doing one or the other on its own, and because the stock clutch and flywheel assembly is so heavy on this car, it pays nice dividends by way of a much more responsive engine and it's much more willing to rev.
