i was thinking of designing it myself. home depot in the bathroom section has some nice light pvc piping with the exact angle i need, that i've seen. the idea just came to me there.
now why didnt the guys with thousands and thousands of R&D money at top-notch aftermarket companies not think of that yet?

probably too costly. .but it would be like the AEM CAI water protection filter adapter that opens when the bottom ones clogged. .just it would be open all the time. .takes car of the beefing about short air resistance/flow, and colder air entrance.

it's JUST AN IDEA!!! if it works and i make millions. .i'll send u all a free one!

Would look sort of what those double filter kits for the GTR's look like. Would u think that would make a difference. best of both worlds?

thanx. .doesn't hurt to try n test a theory. .besides it'll be like 30 bucks. .i've done this sort of thing b4 for friends intake systems. Mainly Acura CL type S's. At the time they never made after market intakes, so we had to improvise. Wish i had a pic to show you, was a pretty amazing fabrication.

hmm. .let me put it this way. a factory intake box if you notice when you remove it always has that extra little tube either going down to be somewhere outside the engine bay, or to the side going into the fender wall so that it can suck COLD air from outside of the engine bay away from the hotter air. COLD air is better for the engine no matter how fast its sucking the air in, hot is always worse off. so im guessing there is some pro's and some cons to both systems. Personally i like using the CAI as Opposed to the SRI. For the hell of it i'm going to test out the SRI and see what it does for me. Thanx for the Flamming!!

Ok let me put it this way. Noone is going to take Intake design theory from some forum rookie with the location "NuJerz wer Plenty Murdaz Ocurz"

Just accept the fact that cold air intakes on the VQ don't make "mad props power homie G slice"

indeed i am a forum rookie, but that does not entail my knowledge to be worthless. being an auto tech for a living im going by what i know makes sense for the engine, not what kinds of gimics were all falling for so that after market companies can make a buck. but if you say im wrong being such a wise internet forum professional, then so be it.

I agree. It was semi on topic for a bit. In reguards to the myths that cold air is always the way to go.
