I wouldnt necessarily be concerned with 243 HP. The question is how does it compare to other 350Z's or G35's on that same dyno.

All across the country (world) dynos will put out different number and some of them can vary widely.
I've seen stock range from 200 to 280 depending on the dyno used. It just happens.

Then there is the ECU. It's a very big variable. It can easily swing 10HP or more if not conditioned properly. Sometimes it goes into granny mode and sometimes it goes into performance mode depending on a number of other variables.

You could go back to that same dyno shop tomorrow and gain 10-15 more HP. The ECU can be tricky.

Ask the dyno operator if he's dynod other Z's. What numbers did they make?

I agree 100%. If you really want headers, a set of nice cams and a UTEC and you will see moderate gains. other than that, its a waste of $$$$

My N/A numbers are in my sig

I was the first 350z on their dyno. My power is noticeably more than stock, I am not too concerned about it anymore. I want turbo

Then what are you unsatisfied about? Those numbers mean absolutely nothing without a stock baseline number. (Unless, like Hydrazine stated, you compare them to other VQ's dyno'd on the same machine in similar conditions).

Numbers are just numbers.

I did 268 bone stock on a particular dynapack. Then, I dyno'd on a more conservative dynapack with an exhaust, test pipes, intake, & spacer and yielded 253.

Stick to one dyno and get a before & after dyno if you want to see real results.

Don't let an initial number depress you

Its a relative number. With your mods, you'll do at least 280 on my dyno.

But you will still have the same amount of power as the day before you dynod anything.

And you will still have about 20-25 more HP than stock.

Like it has already been said and as I was initially trying to express, these numbers really don't mean anything without a baseline dyno on that same exact dyno.

Ask yourself how you would feel if your baseline dyno had your car making 200whp and you've made a 40whp improvement. I'm sure at that point you wouldn't care whether you made 250whp or not. Thats all a dyno should be used for as a tool to measure the effects of modifications made on your car relative to where you started. The improvements are always more important than the overall final numbers.

This crowd is tough on headers... I have a set of Crawfords and I like them... I dyno'd 286 and my car runs great... 4.08 gears helped...

I realize that the Turbo crowd is obligated to follow the headers and all NA mods suck rule... But it isn't true.

come on now. I went down the N/A road and that was the main reason for boosting my car. Performance was pathetic for all the time and parts that I threw at the car. After everything, the car was marginally faster than the guy down the street with a bone stock Z.

If you want to stay N/A, stick to gearing and suspension type parts

Most of the people are speaking from experience though so I believe them.

given your altitude and mods, you are putting out exactly what you should expect

he's not running 12:1...he's running high 12's. Incidentally, same AFR I am running

He is 5k feet above sea level. He will NEVER see 270's or 280's with simply headers and a flash....he would be lucky to break 250

don't replace the beautiful popcharger with the k&n box..
I agree with headers not doing shizzle. Your injen exhaust maybe robbing your hp. I'd chuck that heap and put on some hks. I've read many threads, where owners are claiming injen isn't a very good exhaust.
