injector o rings and gloves. whats the deal?
I just installed new injectors in my car and after the fact noticed the directions said DO NOT wear gloves. I guess I skipped that part =)
why is that? I was wearing powder free latex gloves. Does the latex somehow break down the rubber o-rings?
Just wondering, if need be I'll buy some more orings and reinstall the injectors before starting the car again.

Lol, if fuel doesnt affect the orings I doubt latex could harm them.
I would imagine it has something to do with the powder that is usually applied to the gloves. Since your didn't have powder on them I would not concern myself with it.

Jeff --thats rediculous ---I have never seen that , but my guess is the possibility of talc from the gloves on the rings and like PAM cooking spray, creating a "nonseal"
First of all, I NEVER wear gloves and I lube my rings with appropriate lube (AC, Brake/Clutch hydraulics, Vacuum, Fuel
Even Spit
An O-ring HAS to be installed lubed

Point is --- Unless your ****, all O-Rings are cool with a 30 weight oil lube except AC where you want to use the appropriate refrigerant oil and a special lube for Brakes ---silicon based
