Clutch + flywheel combo?
My clutch felt like it was about to go out so i just took my car to the dealership. They said i need a new clutch assembly + flywheel and wanted $2295 for parts and labor.
I'm obviously not having them do it but now i'm looking for a good clutch assembly + lighter flywheel combo to use. I am NA and don't plan on anything more than 340 HP for a while. I heard good things about ACT and JWT.
Whats the best to get for my purposes? and is it true that its best to get the clutch assembly and the flywheel from the same brand?

Nissan oem clutch and flywheel assembly's are extremely expensive. Your obviously way better off just buying an aftermarket clutch and flywheel assembly and save yourself a grand or so. you can mix and match clutch's and flywheels, just some work better together than others. ACT is the cheaper way to go.

there are lots of good options. Not to be rude but this same question is asked more than once a week. Do a quick search, maybe 10-15 minutes worth, and you'll see what gets recommended time and time again
I always try to research before i ask myself and you're right, there are plenty of opinions out there. preferences for ACT, JWT, SS . . . all seem to be balanced. There is no overwhelming "winner".
So i thought if i put my intentions for my car, then someone may have some specific advise

I think you just answered your own question
There really is no clear winner...just several good options. Personally, I like the ACT stuff as its easy to drive, hold gobs of torque and uses a 1 piece chromoly flywheel (I prefer them over 2 piece units just for peace of mind). The Exedy Sport Clutch + ACT flywheel combo would also be a terrific setup as well, and not pricey. You can mix and match clutch and flywheels so long as both are compatible with stock stuff

Just got an ACT HD clutch kit with street disk + ACT streetlite flywheel from the guys at Gruppe-S. Was $780 out the door, best price by about $200. Great shop, i'd highly reccommend them, first time i'd been and am definately going back. Prices and parts are awesome.
Waiting to get it installed by some other people, should end up saving myself atleast $1k compared to nissan's price.
Can't wait to get it installed n' test it out vs. my bro's track model.
