Default Help identify undercarriage component?

I drove over a chunk of concrete today and tore loose a plastic shield of some type on the underside of the car. Its roughly in the shape of the letter 'M', about 2 feet long and 8 inches at its widest, and is attached just to the rear of the oil pan. It appears like it would be easy to replace. It now slaps against the bottom of the car and makes a LOT of noise when I drive.

Can anyone help me with the name of the part, and what its function is?

TIA!

Yes!

Thanks for responding. Do you know what it's called and what it does?

I cannot locate the proper name, but it is a protective panel. You can see that it is integrated with the transmission support and suspension.

It's just for aerodynamics. The bottom of any car is not clean aerodynamically, so the underpanels clean it up.

Great! I'll just cut it completely off until I can find a new one or have it repaired.

Hey, i have the exact same problem as you. I went to the dealership and they said its part 75898M. From them its 68.58 for the plate + 4.26 for the clips + 7.68 for the bolts lol. Seems a bit excessive to me. Have you replaced it yet? and if so where did you buy the piece from?

I ended up going with my dealer because shipping from one of our member vendors made it more expensive. With 10% ZROC discount, $73.96 for the shield, clips and screws plus $5 for the state tax collector. Ordered today, here in 2 days.
