Engine Oil Overfill... Problem?
I had done an oil change from my dealer about two months ago, and I just noticed that the oil level is way over F on dip stick (about an inch above F mark). In case you guys wonder, I checked the dipstick about three hours after the engine had been stopped.
I think the dealership overfills Zs to cover up oil consumption issue...
My question is,,, how bad can this be?
I guess that too much oil in the engine can build too much pressure inside the engine. Is this correct?
I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow to complain about this, but I would like to know how they will typically respond and what my response should be...

Overfilling can actually CAUSE oil usage, even in a good engine.
Quoted from Cartalk, " When you overfill the crankcase by a quart or more, then you risk "foaming" the oil. If the oil level gets high enough, the spinning crankshaft can whip the oil up into a froth, like the stuff that sits on top of your cappuccino. And the problem with that is that the oil pump can't pump froth."
" It's like trying to drink from a straw when there's not much left in the glass -- what you get is mostly air. And air can't lubricate your engine. "

LOL WUT?
F stands for full, as in no more should go in. over the full mark means you put in more than what should go in, so no, its not supposed to be other the f mark. it can be without hurting, but not by much and 1" is certainly too far.
