Default Heat from Engine Bay

I've noticed that there is a lot of heat coming into the interior of the car from the engine bay. The heat comes in through the foot well area and now that its summer, it gets rather uncomfortable. Although, its been hot for a while, this didn't start happening until fairly recently and I don't know if its normal or not.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks.

Set the dial to “recirculate.” See if that helps.

Your z must have a turbonator. They generate a lot of heat. Perfectly normal.

Strangely enough, it's normal, my '03 Z did this. My '04 G Coupe 6MT does not, which I never really thought of, until you mentioned it.

I suspect given the basic same setup, they put something under the carpet or maybe even in the design of the firewall, but it just doesn't happen. Maybe the Climate Control air venting is different, who knows?

My Z transmitted more NVH and such in general, part of that weight penalty (curb weight on the 2004 G Coupe 6 MT was 3410 vs. ~3300 for my 2003 Z, and it added even more weight in the 05-07 MY's) with the G Coupe is more "stuffing" between you and the things creating NVH. I wouldn't be surprised to find something under the carpet in the foot area of the driver's side.

you think our car breathes on us, corvettes are notorious for breathing hot air. Perfectly normal.
