Hi guys, i have a few mods done to my car and it seems to me that im climbing up the rpms very fast and would like to know up to were i can raise my rev limiter safly. i've seen 7200 but i wanted to know if you can go higher than that on the non-rev motor.
Why not just see what the car feels like before you decide to blow up the engine. Be safe for a while, you can make changes after a week or 2 of driving like the car is now.
i wanted to know because im going to do a final drive install and i wanted to know if i could go higher than 7200 so i can do 4.08 gears
you don't need to go higher than 7200 for 4.0 gears... I take it you are MT and must be trying to make it through 1/4 mile without an added shift? Otherwise I still don't understand the desire.
i am sorry but that is retarded. you obviously have no idea what you are doing, not only in a sense of what you are doing to your car, but also in the sense that you do not understand the physics applied to what is occurring in your engine. i was expecting a built motor and head at least but you are running stock internals and valve train components? and you want to increase your rev-limit even further?
I have the none revup... Sometimes I do wish I could stay in the gear a little longer... but you stop making power at 6200 or 6500RPM w/e it is... you really don't need too. If you do though.. I wouldn't go past 7K
