highest safe rev limit for non-rev

Default highest safe rev limit for non-rev

Hi guys, i have a few mods done to my car and it seems to me that im climbing up the rpms very fast and would like to know up to were i can raise my rev limiter safly. i've seen 7200 but i wanted to know if you can go higher than that on the non-rev motor.

I have long tube headers, afe ram air intake, bassani true dual, and mrev2 with 1/2 spacer

Why not just see what the car feels like before you decide to blow up the engine. Be safe for a while, you can make changes after a week or 2 of driving like the car is now.

what is your desire for higher than 7200? You won't be making power that far anyway... is there something specific you are trying to accomplish?

i wanted to know because im going to do a final drive install and i wanted to know if i could go higher than 7200 so i can do 4.08 gears

you don't need to go higher than 7200 for 4.0 gears... I take it you are MT and must be trying to make it through 1/4 mile without an added shift? Otherwise I still don't understand the desire.

yea, i am a mt and want to know if it would be better to just get the 3.9 with 7200 rpm or i would be fine with the 4.08

i am sorry but that is retarded. you obviously have no idea what you are doing, not only in a sense of what you are doing to your car, but also in the sense that you do not understand the physics applied to what is occurring in your engine. i was expecting a built motor and head at least but you are running stock internals and valve train components? and you want to increase your rev-limit even further?

higher revs (particularly on this specific application) do not equal more power... that is not the way engines work.

The upgraded JWT springs and shims are only good til a max of 7200 RPM.

Your car stops making power at approx 6200 RPM. Why would you want to rev to 7200?

It's all fun and games until you float a valve... tune away!

I see fial in your future.

^lol, but so true, dyno graphs prove it. unless you have a built motor with cams and a crazy good tune. its not worth it

I have the none revup... Sometimes I do wish I could stay in the gear a little longer... but you stop making power at 6200 or 6500RPM w/e it is... you really don't need too. If you do though.. I wouldn't go past 7K

so 7200 would be the furthest taht i could push the motor atleast until i do internals?
