Default My friend wants to buy this Touring 2003 350Z - Please read this guys and advise.

Guys - I own a 350Z and my buddy wants to buy one as well (talked him into it) He found a deal but he's hesitant due to the "black box" getting fixed. Can you please read the sellers response and provide some guidance. We are really worried. I love my Z and I'd have to see him get a lemon Z. Please help! I also tried to do some research on this and I'm having a hard time finding "black box" - Thank you. He's asking 15k for a Z that has 41k miles. (Touring) which is a solid deal.

Is the black box stalling a KNOWN problem with the 03 Z's?

Email from the seller below:

it's is in very good condition and I have full maintenance records. only significant problem over it's life was a 'black box' computer issue that was causing stalls - fixed it earlier this year. only flaws are cosmetic 'dings' on the doors and wheel wells from genreal Housotn driving and particularly from inconsiderate people and their car doors in parking lots. these are mostly quite small and can't be seen unless you're looking for them. one of the passenger side wheel well dings and a scratch on the driver's side lower back panel are larger than the rest - no rust, and you certainly wouldn't notice them from afar, but you would close up. should be cheap to get them tapped out and buffed - I just haven't gotten around to it. tires are relatively new and in good shape (I'm out of town right now, so I can't reference the actual dates for you). everything works. I have loved driving this car and will definitely miss it, but a rear wheel drive car in Alaska is not a good thing.

I offered 15k - should I go lower or ...?

Smile New to me...

The only 'black box' I've ever heard that would relate to an auto is the 'black box' controversy of using stored data in ECU's at crash scenes.

Also, too bad you're not in Indiana. I have car with minimal nicks, no door dings, and lower miles for sale!
