Default Factory oil filter question

Just did the 1st oil change in the Z yesterday. Noticed the factory oil filter ended in "B" (15208 65F0B). The filter I got from Nissan parts Dept. ended in "C" (15208 65F0C). Is that a factory parts designation? Parts look identical.

If I remember right, the Titan was the same way (2 different ending designations between factory and parts dept).

When they change a part slightly (this includes just raising the price), they give it a new part number, usually only changing one number/letter. The filter you got probably just superseded the one that came on the car.

Thanks for the reply.

It sure seems like alot of extra pace around the filter too. Like where the filter seats to the engine.
