Im pretty sure(ill re-read)but I think the original question wasn't "what do you think about my swap" but more of an informative question about a swap in progress..could just be me?
So do yourself a favor and exit the thread. Back on topic:ECU depends on which motor..if its an LS1/6 you can use a reg. camaro/ta ecu...just make sure the harness/ecu match. I know the 98 motor and ecu were different than all the other years...if you havent already purchased a motor(nm you said you already did) but the 01-02 LS1 is the best bet..comes stock with an LS6 intake and 241 heads which are better than the 841s the 99-00s came with..block is the same though.
olddirty you deserve an opinion, but try to understand that the cornerstone of high performance is to stuff the largest engine in the smallest package and closing your mind to different possibilities shows little creativity.

Made by Nissan?

Unless you have any useful information your best bet would be not to post and make yourself look dumb. Lets see..since swapping the motor..my car:
-Handles a little better(its much lighter up front)
- Has Better gas mileage
- is Reliable(i wouldnt say MORE cuz the rotary isnt reliable at all)
-Makes Torque
- is LESS expensive(when you factor in maintenance and mods)..1000$ will get you 400 EXTREMELY reliable whp with an LS1..how much to do the same with a rotary?..hmm
-Has a MUCH stronger Transmission(t56 6 speed)
....the list goes on if youd like I can continue..but please..share your cons on what makes this a bad swap...I gotta hear this

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the ls1 cable diven not fly by wire like the ls2 I'm alos considering the swap also trying to make my z like me jap/white the best of both world hahaha

Why do some people have a problem with this? The LSX has proven itself time and time again to be a potent powerplant. I haven't seen this much **** since someone swapped an LS1 into a mustang.
Let's think about this....
VQ35 - 230rwhp
LS1 - 300rwhp
LS2 - 330rwhp
Wonder how an LS1 would be in a G35

*Edit. I did read somewhere that GM was designing a dual overhead cam engine. I'm looking forward to that.

Why would gm need to produce a DOHC engine when a simple pushrod engine makes so much power?
VQ

LS1

LS7

Enjoy

Apparently I'm incorrect and GM is canceling the DOHC V8 but that doesn't change what I said. The LS engine is a great engine I'd love to have a corvette but its not a high tech high performance v8 when compared to other high end V8's on the market.
I think anything different is pretty bad a$$. One of my buddies was thinking going with a LS1 since its proven itself to be a worthy engine. But then he started throwing other ideas into the mix. Recently a buddy of ours got into an accident and they totaled his 04 Cobra. He got it out and we started tearing apart the whole car and taking parts. So my buddy with the 350z began thinking of pulling the 4.6L 4V and the T-56 along with the ECU and it's currently sitting in my garage. I don't think it would work but who knows. I offered him some money for it and swap it into my Saleen. But he hasn't made up his mind yet. 390hp off the 4.6 and with $1,500 can easily push 450rwhp. I think the LS1 would be pretty awesome. Don't matter if it's a GM motor into a Nissan.

And? It's a big *** engine! Big engines make big power! What about power per liter? LS7 is 7 liters right? and makes 440 hp? I'm too lazy to look up the HR's dyno and do the math... you get the point...
efficiency is cool.
