Default Forged rods/pistons

I am looking at building up a VQ35 for the Procharger application on my car. I have been trying to find rods and pistons but have had no luck with Eagle/Arias/JE etc. Does anyone have any confirmation from companies who may have products available soon?

I talked to JE.....they can make a custom set as long as I provide them with a stock piston to work from as a guide. Prices are between $140-180 each with a 5 week delivery. The only question now is where to find some affordable rods. It is unfortunate that Eagle does not make them.

Apparently SGP has Pauter rods available.....$ 1275.00 for a set.
So it looks like a set of rods and pistons will end up in the $2100-2350 range......YIKES...definitely not a cheap upgrade. I guess that is the price you have to pay for quality and piece of mind when you go for the big boost.

Tell them to use one of James Chen's old rods.

ROFL....trust me when I say JE's 5 weeks will be more like 10-14 weeks. Also the $840-$1080 does not include wrist pins, keepers or rings. Our price includes all of the above.

Also we have the pistons and rods in stock

Kyle(Houston),
What compression pistons do you have available? What would be you're pricing on a set of forged 9:1 pistons(standard bore)? Are they manufactured in house?

Right now I have 8.5:1 and I am working on 11.5:1. They are .020 over stock. We do not make them in house....they were special made for us by a very good piston company .

Default Rods and Pistons.

Of course 8:5:1 Pistons would give you better results (than 9+) with the ATI (ie allow allow smaller pulley/ higher boost. However; does any one have any speculation itf
8.5:1 in the VQ will still meet CARB and not crush the LEV rateing?

Default Rods

I have no experience with Pauter rods .

How do they compare to:
Manley I-beams
or
Eagle SIRs?

WE only did them in .020 over but I could probably get you a stock bore in 3-4 weeks. The question though is WHY? You will still have to have the block honed so why not go ahead and bore it also??

They are an I beam rod and we have used them in several 300zx's that are doing well over 700 Hp with no issues at all.

The new shortblock from Nissan would not need to be honed because the engine has never been run.
