It was a special option on the '03 and '04 NISMO Zs.

From 03 to 06 Z come with a VQ35DE... thats there engine code... The 07 to 08 have a newer engine VQ35HR.. HR stating High Rev... its a stronger block and due to longer piston rods and a few more tweaks from nissan like twin intanks... the HR motor has a higher rev limit from 6800rpms to 7500rpms and a much more powerful power band then 03 to 06Z....

The Revup was not available in 03-04 and is not related to the HR motor. It was available only for the 2005 Anniversary Edition and 2006 trims (MT only).

Really bad info in those first couple of replies. Rev-up motor is the 300hp motor, which redlines at 7000rpm. HR motor is the 306hp motor, redline is at 7500rpm.

Do a search for "oil consumption" and you will find out all you ever wanted to know about the rev-up motor. I am on engine #2 in my '06 now.

Haha, isn't that the truth. I am getting mine tested right now, but considering the fact I polished my tailpipes a couple weeks ago, and they are soot covered once again, I don't think I will have a problem proving it.

I'm also debating on going FI. If I go with twins I plan on getting APS, for single I'll go Powerlab.
