Default 07 engine in 03?

I can get a 2007 engine from a wreck and want to know if i can swap it into my 2003 touring. What will this entail (will i have to change tranny anything other parts? I liek my car the way it is but I know the 07 engine is alot better than the 03 and i can get this motor cheap. and it has very low miles on it. Help me make this work lol.

Default new questions

apparently the recommended thread is talking about a Rev-up rather than an HR. So Questions stand at:

What will be needed for this swap?
Will we need to get an 07+ tranny as well?
I'm sure we'll need an 07+ ECU, but can we keep our original BCU, and only swap engine harness?

How do you identify an HR engine over a Rev-up, if you don't know the original car it came in. (read Ebay bought)

thanks
Phar

HR engine are obvious Only VQ in the Z with 2 TB. And ull need a 07+ hood to fit the engine.

okay, That's what I thought, but I was wondering because I'd heard conflicting information. Now only if I had a 06 tranny to try out on the HR. I'm had some people say no way it would fit, that the higher block means a different tranny, others say yeah it'll fit, n that the only difference is the gear ratios. Anyone got picts?
