pretty simple question i hope...used the search tab but couldn't find anything...i know that the transmissions have like product codes such as CD001. is that the same for engines and/or blocks?? like is there just a product code, engine stamp or do they actually have VINs?

 

I thought the motors were serialized. Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong.

 

They have serial numbers which are derived from the VIN. Same for the trans.

If you buy a new trans from Nissan, you can see the serial on the old one, and the bosses to mount a serial plate on the new one, but no plate.

 

sooo like on the trans where it says CD001 or CD007 the engine has similar codes but no like VIN that matches to the actual car's VIN?

 

The CD is just the end of the part number, there are actual ESN tags on both engine and trans that can be matched back to the original vehicle's VIN.
