May be way off (definitely try the brake fluid first), but my previous vehicle was an 01 maxima. The lights got all wacky on my way to work one day (brake, abs, slip, srs, etc), some on, then went off, then a bunch stayed on (forget exact combo).

Car was still under warranty. I brought it in and described the wackiness. The service manager immediately suspected the alternator which sounded rediculous to me. They changed the alternator and the problem went away.

You've got a little gremlin in there. I have seen this before, especially when beating on the car at the track. We let the car sit, and the lights go away. The correct way to troubleshoot this, is with a good diagnostic scanning device. It will tell what the issue is.

It could be any of the following:
Tires/wheel combo that are slightly out of spec
Speed sensor at any wheel/output flange on diff
VDC fuse
ABS related
Steering wheel angle sensor

Those are all the things that come to mind right now.

Just wire in a VDC bypass switch and fully disable it. Then you'll have VDC off and Slip lights all the time like me, . But you'll also always have full control of your car, so it's up to you.

I just thought it was funny - all lit up like that. Saw a couple of other people here having the same problem.

I've never had the problem before. Now it's happened twice since the SC install. Once, I was beating on the car pretty hard - first, second and third gear. (Need new tires!!!)

The next time, I don't think I was doing anything. Just pulling into traffic.

Only, I shut the car off and the lights didn't go away. So, I just reset the ECU at the next stop light. No biggy.

I'm gonna replace the VDC fuse, Justin Case. Thanks Sharif.

UPDATE just to close this thread:

I had this happen to me three times. Each time the car gave me a P0335 cookie. So, I went ahead and changed the CPS. I haven't had it happen since.

I know the 03s had a recall for this. But, it only covered a small list of VIN numbers. And, the dealer would only cover the other units if they had problems with the car starting as well. Mine was fine at the time. Don't know why it started acting up now. But, whatever.

Thanks for tuning in. I'm gonna go add me some brake fluid to my reservoir now.
