true ram air goes directly from the front of the car into the intake mani, no bends. bends stop the air velocity and defeat the whole idea. zxsaint is looking in the right direction, I am working on something similar for my dsm.

Hey man That was a good attempt. I have alway wondered why folkk don't just go to a machine shop and have someone mandral bend some pipe with the same specks as K&N, Injen, etc.

Maybe if you did this you could get rid of the flex hose.

Also, you may want to put a small hole at the bottom of ur scoop so when water gets scooped up withe the air it doesn't puddle.

Good attempt though.

I hope you stay out of any puddles with that contraption. That will suck up the water and then you will be in a world of trouble.

No offense, but you'll get way better airflow through the stock airbox and air inlet and piping.

BTW, this isn't "ram air". Its just an attempt at a CAI.

You know, the stock airbox has an inlet that pulls ambient air. I don't get why people pull that off and stick a conical filter in the engine bay and then worry about heat. Why not just leave the stock box in place? Its not bad. The piping could be improved but the stock box is sealed and pulls air from the bumper anyway.

you might be right here. I guess i was board and wanted to play around alittle to see what it would do. My mind gets to thinking up crazy things before i fall asleep and this kind of stuff is the result )
