Default researched, but.. need even 300 hp

I just want to get to an even 300 hp not looking to do to much and 300 is a good round no.

I was thinking Injen CAI and pullies. will that get me their.

I do not wnat an exhuast, to much of an attention grabber. just looking for little INEXPENSIVE ways to get it.

This was much easier in a civic, parts were alot cheaper!

Any one wanna help me out? BTW i did a search but couldn't really find anything.

50 shot of nos wont do squat for your 350z. I started small just to be safe. a cold air intake could be felt more.

Jus shoot $100 shot and get it over with!

Assuming you're talking about hp at the wheels (b/c measuring hp at the crank is all speculation, unless you wanna pull the engine, so crank hp (to me) = stupid), the only 'inexpensive' way to gain 60 hp is going to have to include n2o. i can't think of any other way to get there that's 'inexpensive'. You won't get close with just cai and pullies.

Just for yucks can anyone comment on roughly what the combination of the following common mods will add up to in terms of real added HP ? Is it worth it ?

CAI
Pulleys
Crawford Plenum
Headers
Borla TD's
<Hi Flow cats>

This is my take:

Best combo for real HP that can be felt are Crawford Plenum + Equal Length Headers + Dual Exhausts. Hi-Flow cats are still to be determined.

Get the Borla... If you don't want exhaust because it's loud... well, the Borla isn't loud. it's a bit deeper, but it's not an "attention getter" when driving though town late at night, or pulling into your house / garage / apartment...

Borla / CAI / Pulleys.... as well as Sunoco 94 Ultra... I think those are the easiest mods and will get you closer.. but I think you'll still be a few shy of 300 at the wheels... Again depends on the DYNO as well. Each is a bit different. I'm about to ReDyno soon so I'll let you know where I am now. (See my SIG for stock numbers and current mods.)

kool i will look into the exhuast and CAI and pullies

what's Sunoco 94 Ultra
Also how good are headers for this car. on my civic it gave me 1-2 horses, is it better gains on the Z.
I will never use NOS in my car. big time fine and i like my engine enough to have it last awhile.

Thanks all

According to Courtesy Nissan, the NISMO headers yields 9+ HP from 3800-6200 RPM with max HP of 13 HP and 13 ft-lb. Not bad if these figures are true.

Sunoco Brand Gas (as opposed to Amoco or Philips 66): 94 Octane (compared to most 91)

Supercharger, simple enough. 60 reliable whp every day. That's the only mod you need, nothing else.

These are the mods I am currently planning on. Based on the research I have done around these forums, I think they will be a good combination of adding power and a slightly non-stock sound (more exotic) while not costing too much, which is what I want:

1.) Grounding Kit
2.) Injen CAI
3.) UR Pulley
3.) Cat pipes
4.) Borla True Dual

Based on compiled individual gains these mods should make somewhere between 35whp and 60whp. I have a good feeling that they will make more than 40whp because a lot of people believe (as I do) that combining mods can yield extra horsepower.

I also chose these mods because many other members have used most of them -- they have a "tried'n'true" image that isn't valid for every mod in this forum.

You do know that unless you are experiencing detonation, higher octane gas will give you less hp. A higher octane rating means there is actually less energy per gallon of gas. Higher octane gas burns slower and that is why is resists knocking, but that also causes you to lose power.

I read in a magazine where they GAINED HP using higher octane gas, I believe it was 100. With this high compression motor it has to be close to the knock limit... And as for vincenzobar mentioning the Honda Civic, this is for you sweet cheeks:

syf0n has the right idea but don't focus on numbers so much rather cold air in (or N20 hehe) exhaust out.

What is your goal? Just a fast car for the highway? Burnouts from a stop? Cornering? 1/4's? Need more Torque? Loss of your drivers license? Jail? LOL.

Define your goal, research your mods, buy the parts.

Crawford Plenum, UR pulley (crank) to start. You will feel that combo throughout the powerband. ECU would be nice if someone made a proven power adder type that raises the rev limiter a tad.

please prove me wrong tho.

The exhaust might even drop the numbers. People concentrate on numbers too much. 40hp to the crank maybe but no way RWHP.

I see cars run 12's every week that have never even been to a Dyno! They just followed the proven mod suggestions for their goals and car.
