I'm pretty sure I'm staying N/A...if not then I'm not going down this path.

Also, be conserned with torque as much as you are hp.

A high HP car w/ low torque ain't all that great.

I want a car that's going to snap my head off from throwing me back in my seat.

Here's what I would do to get some nice gains:

Mods:
Borla Exhaust (10-15whp)
Borla Headers(I hear good for torque!)
Crawford Plenum(9 whp - 19whp between 6200-6600rpm and such?)
CAI (5-6 whp)
Camshafts
ECU (7-10 hp, plus doesn't negate any mods)
Flywheel

That should give you a nice feel.

Even w/ SC, you'll want to open the exhaust up. Also, dont forget about suspension mods.

Why don't you go even more all out, w/ high compression pistons and forged rods. It'll make even more use out of the higher redline from your ECU upgrade.

just an idea....

Well, they're pushing low enough boost, and I haven't heard of any blown engines even in testing from GReddy, Stillen, or ATI. GReddy's kit makes 350hp at the wheels so if anyof them were going to blow it'd be that one. I heard something about Top Secret, but no way to know if that was true. And besides TS was looking for like 500+ rwhp. The only other thing you might wan't to do is low compression pistons and an RB26DETT swap.

I'm trying to get 300 rwhp out of the VQ N/A, wish me luck!

Next mod is cams....

Althought I'm at a hard decision of to go with aggressive or radical cams from JUN. hmmmmm.... I dont really wanna sacrifice torque for 30 hp up top with the 268 intake & exhaust dur cams(radical). Wonder if i go with 268 intake and 270/272 exhaust, maybe that will preserve the tq power band down low?

Might just go with 20rwhp w/ the aggressive 264's. Whomever started the post, if you just want 300hp at the crank, then just put on a good high flow exhaust, and the crawford plenum. That should kik you above 300. But rwhp is another story

Assuming you're talking about hp at the wheels (b/c measuring hp at the crank is all speculation, unless you wanna pull the engine, so crank hp (to me) = stupid), the only 'inexpensive' way to gain 60 hp is going to have to include n2o. i can't think of any other way to get there that's 'inexpensive'. You won't get close with just cai and pullies.
I think he is referring to BHP not RWHP. I don't think you'll ever get the 60+ HP needed at the wheels to get to 300 without going with some type of FI.

I was talking crank, and i know it sux but, the average jo has no idea and that is who i mainly hang with. I think i am going with pullies and Injen CAI and maybe the Exhuast. In a couple of years i may just go with FI. but i got to get a raise first

What are your 10k+ of mods that didn't give you 13 measly crank HP?

Simple CAI and Exhaust should ad 13 HP... 287 stock + 13 = 300.

CAI + Exhaust = Less than $1000... Where did the other 9K go that didn't add a single HP?

I think people are confusing "crank" (i.e. Brake Horsepower-BHP) with Rear Wheel Horsepower (RWHP). You may have to spend some cash to get to 300 RWHP but CERTAINLY not much to get to 300 Crank HP. (BHP)

I spent roughly $800 on the Borla Dual exhaust and the AEM intake and I probably got 300 BHP just from that.

With the Procharger (roughly $5400 installed) I'll get WELL over 300 RWHP.
